Product information "Turnbuckle Stainless Steel DIN 1480 Eye / Eye"

Stainless steel turnbuckle DIN 1480 eye / eye M5 - M12

Our saltwater resistant turnbuckles made of V4A AISI 316 stainless steel comply with DIN European Standard 1480 and consist of an open tension sleeve and two eyebolts with metric left/right M5, M6, M8, M10 or M12 thread.

Tested quality: The polished turnbuckles are made of high-quality V4A stainless steel and can be used in difficult weather conditions due to their very high corrosion resistance. Due to the closed eye elements and the associated high breaking forces, the stainless steel turnbuckles can be used for stable bracing. Using calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following minimum breaking forces of the turnbuckles could be determined:

  • M5: 1,202kg
  • M6: 1,406kg
  • M8: 2,833kg
  • M10: 4.597kg
  • M12: 4.994kg

Attention. The payload of the turnbuckles is given with a 5-fold safety factor to the minimum breaking load. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.

Easy handling: with the help of the right-hand and left-hand thread, the turnbuckle can be tightened and loosened very easily and quickly.

Versatile applications: Stainless steel turnbuckles can be optimally used as a connecting element to tension wire ropes. Due to its resistance to seawater, turnbuckles are increasingly used in shipping, water sports, the food industry and mechanical engineering. When using turnbuckles and wire ropes, we recommend the following combination:

  • M5: wire ropes up to a thickness of 3mm.
  • M6: 4mm wire rope
  • M8: 5mm - 6mm wire ropes
  • M10: 8mm wire ropes
  • M12: 10mm wire ropes
