Product information "Stainless Steel Wire with Swage Stud Terminals | With Left-hand Thread & Right-hand Thread"

Stainless steel rope in 2-6mm thickness with screw terminals with left and right thread

Our salt water resistant stainless steel ropes A4(AISI 316) comply with DIN European Standard 13414-1 and are assigned to the rope classes 1x19, 7x7 and 7x19, these are one or 7 strands with 7 or 19 wires each. Stainless steel ropes of 1x19 construction are considered "stiff" and less flexible due to the low number of individual wires. 7x7 and 7x19 constructions, on the other hand, offer high flexibility due to the high number of individual wires.

The wire rope is crimped at both ends with stainless steel screw terminals with metric thread M4, M6, M8, M10 or M12. On one end, the stainless steel wire rope is swaged with a screw terminal with left-hand thread and on one end with a screw terminal with right-hand thread. Due to the counter-rotating threads, tensioning of the stainless steel wire ropes is possible at anchor points with recessed threads.

Tested quality: We only use high-quality industrial steel with the premium quality V4A AISI 316 for our stainless steel wire ropes, making the stainless steel wire rope resistant to both salt water and acids. With the help of several of our own calibrated universal tensile testing machines, we are able to guarantee seamless quality assurance. The following minimum breaking forces of the stainless steel cables with crimped terminals were determined in several test trials:

  • 2mm / M4 threaded terminal with 7x7 steel cable: 336kg
  • 2mm / M5 threaded terminal with 7x7 steel cable: 305kg
  • 3mm / M6 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 764kg
  • 4mm / M6 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 1,284kg
  • 4mm / M8 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 1,254kg
  • 5mm / M6 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 1.519kg
  • 5mm / M8 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 1.732kg
  • 5mm / M10 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 1.743kg
  • 6mm / M8 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 2.344kg
  • 6mm / M10 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 2.599kg
  • 6mm / M12 threaded terminal with steel cable 7x19: 2,640kg
  • 2mm / M4 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 366kg
  • 2mm / M5 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 369kg
  • 3mm / M6 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 759kg
  • 4mm / M6 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 1,498kg
  • 4mm / M8 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 1,529kg
  • 5mm / M6 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 1,580kg
  • 5mm / M8 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 1.988kg
  • 5mm / M10 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 2.038kg
  • 6mm / M8 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 2.508kg
  • 6mm / M10 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 2.956kg
  • 6mm / M12 threaded terminal with steel cable 1x19: 2.997kg

Attention! The breaking forces of the terminals are specified without a safety factor. Please base your application on at least a 5-fold safety factor (example 3mm / 7x19 / threaded terminal: 764kg (breaking load) : 5 (safety factor) = 152kg (payload)). The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.

Individual length production: We manufacture your stainless steel wire ropes with threaded terminal to fit exactly for you. Simply select the desired length range of your required length and write your desired length in the comment field provided. The underlying dimensions, please refer to the technical details.

Versatile applications: The seawater-resistant wire ropes with threaded terminal can be used for suitable guy wires for sailboats, for facade greening or for stainless steel rope railings. Due to their corrosion resistance, stainless steel ropes are increasingly used in outdoor applications.

Important safety note: Terminal ropes are not produced as part of load handling equipment and must not be used for suspending or lifting any loads.

Is the rope turning when screwing in?Or can you screw in the thread into a fixed fine threaded tube?
By processing a left-handed and a right-handed thread, the wire rope does not rotate with and can thus be screwed into a thread.
Does the specified length (desired weight) refers to the steel cable or the length incl. The two threaded terminals at the ends?
The specified length (desired measure) refers to the complete use length of end thread to end thread.Among the technical details you will find a presentation for the length of the wire rope.
How much extra length do I plan on screwing to be on the safe side of having enough room to screw but not TOO much room to get it tight?
For lengths up to 10m I recommend you to extend the total length by 3cm (depending on the insertion depth of the thread) to be able to fix and tension the stainless steel cable optimally.
Which carrying capacity does the stainless steel cable have in the tensioned state?
The payload of the stainless steel ropes with compressed terminals is as follows: 2mm / 50kg |3mm / 100kg |4mm / 160kg |5mm / 280kg |6mm / 400kg.
The rope is pulled through several bars. That is, the terminal must be passed through a bore.Does the terminal with thread M6 fits a 6mm bore?
No.Under the technical details you will find a drawing that shows that the press pieces of the terminal are always 1mm â € "2mm wider than the metric thread.
How much% length expansion due to setting effects during the first days / weeks is to be counted in the length?
The elastic module for stainless steel ropes can not be determined correctly. The e-module deviates greatly in stainless steel ropes, since the inner friction of the individual wires is very different. The elongation at break of stainless steel ropes is about 1.5 â € "1.8% length.
Does the article "Stainless Steel Wire with Swage Stud Terminals | With Left-hand Thread & Right-hand Thread" include the two nuts shown?
Yes, the nuts are included.
