Product information "Wire Rope Eye Terminal Stainless Steel | Swageless Terminal"

Stainless steel eye terminal for self-assembly for 2mm - 6mm ropes

Our saltwater resistant V4A AISI 316 stainless steel eye terminals consist of an open M6 threaded terminal with a screwed in right or left hand eye thread, and an insert with allen grub screws to attach the steel cable.

Proven quality: the polished stainless steel eye terminal can be used for 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm & 6mm thick steel cables. Made of high quality and rustproof V4A stainless steel, the eye terminals can be exposed to harsh weather conditions. Using calibrated universal tensile testing machines, the following minimum breaking forces of the terminals could be determined:

  • 2mm: 140kg
  • 3mm: 400kg
  • 4mm: 300kg
  • 5mm: 530kg
  • 6mm: 500kg

Attention. The breaking forces of the terminals are given without safety factor. Please note that wire rope terminals for self-assembly are not suitable for lifting and pulling loads. The detailed test reports can be found under "Test reports" on the article page.

Easy handling: With the aid of an Allen key, the wire rope terminal can be quickly and securely fastened to the steel rope by means of the three grub screws. Crimping, as is the case with roller terminals, is not necessary. By means of a suitable connecting link, the terminal can be attached to anchor points. For example, a screw hook or by means of a shackle or snap hook, eyebolts or eye plates can be used for fastening. By using a right-handed and a left-handed terminal, a steel cable can be tensioned easily and quickly.

Advantage to the rolled terminal: Stainless steel eye terminals for self-assembly can be optimally used as a connecting element to securely fasten stainless steel ropes at suitable attachment points. Due to the possibility of self-assembly, the exact length of the steel cable does not have to be defined in advance, but can be individually adapted to the conditions on site.

Easy expansion options: Our eye terminals can of course be combined with all matching stainless steel cables, screw hooks or eye bolts from the store of Stahlseile24. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I would like to use the terminal to tension a wire rope. Is this possible? How much tensioning travel does the terminal have?
The stainless steel eye terminal for self-assembly has, due to the thread of the eye, only a very small tensioning travel of approx. 45mm. To tension a longer tensioning rope, a tensioning element such as a turnbuckle or shroud tensioner must be used.
What is the thickness of the material in the eye area?
The material thickness at the eye is 4mm.
I would like to tension ropes. Length about 3.60m, if I use an augtermunal at both ends, should the tensioning distance be sufficient?
The total clamping travel of both terminals is approx. 50 mm, which should be just enough. As a rule, 1 - 1.5% clamping travel is required.
